I feel most alive when I am moving. I have spent a lifetime in various dance classes and recently fell in love with rhythm tap dancing. I was a dance major at Brenau University in Gainesville, GA and moved to NYC to continue my dance education in 1994. I studied massage at the Swedish Institute of Allied Health Sciences and became a licensed massage therapist in 1998. Since then I have built a busy private practice in Manhattan.
My continuing education in massage includes Swedish, Shiatsu, Thai, Lomi Lomi, deep tissue, myofascial release, prenatal massage and infant massage instruction. In 2009 I began training in the MELT method and am certified to teach the hand and foot treatments, the MELT length series and the MELT strength series. In 2012 I completed the Swedish Institute of Allied Health Sciences advanced personal training certification. I also hold a Level 1 Kettlebell certification and I am a Next Generation Yoga for Kids instructor.
A few times a year I get the privilege of working with the fantastic staff and crew of Lindblad/NatGeo Expeditions where I am a wellness specialist on one of their small cruise ships. While onboard, I get to combine my passion for movement and health with their mission of exploration and education through nature and small expedition travel.
I live in Philadelphia with a boyfriend who runs ultra marathons and a dog who seems to have endless energy. My all-time favorite job title is “Aunt Jen Jen” and I have four busy nephews who definitely keep me moving!
